Corn hasn't found an influential level of technical support yet, nor has it ended its trend of progressively lower daily highs. Therefore, although corn, wheat, and soybean oil contracts closed with slight gains Thursday, the sector may still have bearish momentum.

COTTON -- DTN Closing Cotton Commentary 07/24 14:56
Showers and thunderstorms expected in parts of the West Texas Plains. Lubbock to remain dry until a slight chance emerges Tuesday. Domestic mill consumption appears on track to make USDA's 2007-08 estimate.

Move Over, Omaha Steaks -- Somehow I ended up on the mailing list for Slanker's Grass-fed Meats, and I got their newsletter this morning. It reminded me of how we've been seeing advertisements for other grass-fed beef suppliers, like La Cense Beef, on high-traffic websites like the Wall Street Journal and Drudge Report. Is this the breakout moment for the grass-fed industry?

The pork complex closed impressively higher, bolstered by strengthening fundamentals, short covering and fund buying. The August belly contract locked limit up for the second consecutive session. Cattle futures settled mixed as traders position ahead of cash news as well as the release of two major cattle inventories due out Friday afternoon.
